Djerbism is a video poem inspired by the summer sunrises that engulf Djerba.

Djerba sunrise slowly flips up
sits up on the whole sky
swallows you below like a thick drink
just cool enough to take down.
A pink simmer on your lashes
on empty heads of the morning
checks, innerly, that harshly touch,
nourishing baskets on the bud of an argument.
A hand, a weight, a decision.
The impossible skin of a lover that came the night,
the avenue of ceramics erected at Guellala
down to the sea and the sand
The mothers, making a tent for the summer.
Tomatoes, cucumber, onion, oil - tossed.
Forceful action.
In the middle of the road beyond fear and loathing
A blue, blue real and yellow skins
wondering for Nothing.
