THE LAND IS A SERIES OF RETURNING is a video ode to Tunis. Produced in collaboration with Selima Attalah, a Tunisian poet, the work is a poem of sixteen stanzas in Tunisian and English, each an abstract set of instructions, like a ritual, to embrace the cyclical ways of Tunisia’s capital through food, space, people and life. A version was also made in Maltese, with poet Antonio Tufingo and Jake Buttigieg, to emphasise the similarities between the two languages.
